Terms of service

These terms govern your use of Bring the Moon (the "Service"). You agree to them by ticking the agreement box when you start a book, and by creating an account or placing an order.

1. The Service

Bring the Moon lets you create a watercolor storybook of your child by uploading photos, reviewing illustrations of your child created with AI-assisted illustration tools, and ordering professionally printed copies. Creating and previewing a book is free; you pay only when you place a print order.

2. Eligibility and your responsibilities

You must be at least 18 to use the Service. By uploading photos, you confirm that you took them or otherwise have the right to use them, and that you are the parent or legal guardian of any child pictured — or have that person's permission. You agree not to upload unlawful, harmful, or infringing content, and not to abuse, probe, or disrupt the Service.

3. Your content and ownership

Your photos remain yours. You grant us a limited license to process them solely to provide the Service — validating uploads, generating illustrations, assembling and printing your book, and, if you choose, showing your book on its share page or sending its digital edition to people you name (section 5). The book's underlying story, artwork style, and design are ours; the printed book you order is yours to keep, gift, and read until the spine gives out. Neither of us may resell the other's part commercially.

4. AI-assisted illustrations

The illustrations of your child are created with AI-assisted illustration tools from the photos you share. Results vary, and that's why the Service shows you every page before you order: you choose the illustrations, and you approve the final book. By placing an order you confirm you have reviewed and accepted every page as shown in the preview.

5. Sharing your book

After you order, you can turn on a family share page for your book. Sharing is off unless you turn it on. While it is on, anyone with the link can see your book's cover and, once the book has arrived, a short video of its pages; the small code printed on the back cover opens the same page. Turn sharing off and the link stops working. Your child's first name appears only if you choose to show it, though the cover is always shown as printed. The page carries our name and a link to make a book of your own. We never post your book anywhere ourselves; the video you save is yours to share where you like.

Every book also comes with a digital edition you can read on screen. You can send it to up to five people you name: we email each address once, with a link to the book, and nothing more unless they ask to hear from us. Anyone you send it to can read the digital edition. A child's parent can also make their own copy of the book, including the look drawn from your photos; that copy then belongs to their account and is kept or deleted separately from yours. Stop sharing and the link stops working; deleting your project ends their access to your edition, but does not delete a copy they made their own.

6. Orders, pricing, and payment

Prices, taxes, and shipping costs are shown at checkout, which is operated by our payments provider. Your order is accepted when we confirm it by email. We currently ship within the United States (including Alaska, Hawaii, and Puerto Rico) and to Canada. Canadian orders are billed Canadian sales tax at checkout; customs-clearance charges, import duties, and fees are assessed at the border and are the recipient's responsibility, not included in your order total.

7. Returns and reprints

Because every book is made for one child, orders can't be returned or canceled once printing begins. If your book arrives damaged, defective, or materially different from the preview you approved, email us within 30 days of delivery with photos and we'll make it right with a reprint or refund.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim implied warranties and our total liability for any claim arising from the Service or an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

9. Termination

You can stop using the Service at any time and ask us to delete your data (see the privacy policy). We may suspend accounts that violate these terms or abuse the Service.

10. Changes and governing law

We may update these terms; material changes will be noted here with a new date, and continued use after changes means acceptance. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, without regard to conflict-of-law rules.
